Baby Blue Sweater!

Had fun knitting a baby sweater for my soon to be cousin-in-law....he's going to be here in March!  I know it looks a bit frilly but hopefully they can wear it while he's small...   It's BLUE!

The baby shower was so cute!  I forgot to charge my phone so I wasn't able to get very many pictures!  :(  so sad....

Making a needle holder for me!

Short needle holder
Making my own needle holder - sewing on vinyl.  It's easy however you just have to take your time. I am not using a teflon foot, but just my regular sewing foot.  I am adding the bias tape to the top edge of the pocket to hold the needles
Using a stabilo pencil which rubs off, I drew lines on the vinyl to mark where I'm going to sew for the needles
Bias tape extra wide double fold. It comes in many different colors. I chose black.
Getting ready to assemble all the pieces.  There is a top flap that folds over.  I copied this design from Ashland Sky, which I have several of their needle holders but I didn't want to spend the $$. However, I bought enough to make several so maybe it would've been better just to buy it.. yikes (they were out of the style that I wanted anyways, so this is my justification for spending$$)
My finished roll. (a bit long. I might cut it down.) or...maybe make another one! I need to get more bias tape. I used almost 2 full packages of bias tape!

A little bit of Sewing

I had some time this weekend from all my activities, and had some money to shop for some fabric, so I decided to make some carrying cases for my YARN/KNIT Obsession!
I have lots of storage for my yarn, and although it has gotten out of control again, I have stuff piled up all over for my tools!
My yarn swifts in their new bag!  I love it --this bag carries both of them!
trimmed with black polka dotted fabric
the winder bag, with the black duck canvas bottom
The bag (I need to get some more rattail cording - this one is too short!
This bag actually can carry my smaller yarn swift so it makes a nice size!
 VOILA!

The 30 day Sweater book ! I really need to start mine (wink!)

some of the beautiful yarns I bought...and need to add to my stash....did I really need to add it??????

and some beautiful projects on display!

taking my tools with me!

I was working on a crochet project, and I always try to have something all the time.  Mostly knitting but this time, something new.  I was learning the crocodile stitch. I watched a video on Youtube.com of Mikey.  I found his tutorial easy to follow and was able to start my own project...

One of the things I wanted to share is that I always find tools to help make my projects easier...
My boyfriend laughs at me sometimes.  I think because one of my "tools" I use, is my TOES!

'
yes,.....my toes. I will use my toes to help guide the yarn so I don't get it tangled up!  It sure makes it easier than to have my ball in a bag, and then have it pull out and get mixed up and all over the place...plus with dogs and cats, who love to find my stuff...they will find this funny to chase the ball all over the room!
So, with my pedicured toes....I guide my yarn!

Happy knitting (or crochet-ing!)

Love,
Dianne
